Here's some answers for our most frequently asked questions! If you have any other concerns or confusion, feel free to contact us directly through the contact information located at the footer of the page!

Where are you operated?

Our plants are either housed at the greenhouse in Robinson Hall of the Westminster Schools of Atlanta, GA, or under UV lamps or at our own homes in a humidity-controlled environment. Our laboratory work, such as culturing bacteria and inoculating seeds, is done in a sterilized environment within the Georgia Institute of Technology!

What is Bacteria Subtilis?

Bacteria Subtilis, or our specific strain OKB105, is one of the most well researched Gram Positive Bacteria on the planet, known for its plant-growth promoting and biocontrol capabilities. It is proven to be safe and found naturally in the soil, and it is the primary plant growth promoting bacteria we inoculate our seeds with!

How do you ensure that your process is sustainable and eco-friendly?

We use locally-sourced materials, minimize waste, and aim to repurpose resources, like surplus food from restaurants and stores, to prevent unnecessary disposal. By educating communities and promoting low-impact, science-backed practices, we build systems that are not only effective but enduring and regenerative.

How can I volunteer or help with food redistribution?

Reach out or join us on our upcoming service days! We’re building networks of student and community volunteers to assist with collection, sorting, and outreach. Anyone and everyone is welcome to support the Rooted In Solutions mission!
